As the economy of Estonia grew significantly, the company advanced even faster. In July 1998 daughter company, customs agency Arco Agentuur OÜ was established in Tallinn (The customs agency has stopped its activites by now though). By the year 2000, the number of employees had grown to 22, and turnover to 110 million Estonian kroons (7 million Euros).
The development continued: in 2001 a branch office in South Estonia, Tartu was established, and in December 2002 Arco Transport opened its office in Riga. In June 2003, Arco Transport Group moved its Tallinn and Saue offices to newly built office building at Pärnasalu Str. 11, Saue.
In May 2002, Arco Transport joined International Forwarding Association (IFA). IFA is a network of more than 50 independent, small and medium-sized forwarders throughout Europe.
The year 2004 become an important milestone for the whole Estonia, as Estonia joined the European Union on May 1st. The transit times shortened significantly thanks to the free movement of goods in EU. By that time Arco Transport had collection- and distribution partners in each European country we operate, thanks to the IFA membership.
In February 2004, we started organising transport of containerised goods from all over the world. In 2008, Arco Transport started organising multimodal transport in 45’HCPW containers to and from the Western Europe.
In September 2014, our daughter company OY Arco Transport AB was established in Finland.
In August 2015, Arco Transport quality and environmental management systems were certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 international standards.
Arco Transport has always been based a hundred per cent on Estonian private capital. Our staff are our biggest asset. The four freight forwarders who started in the beginning of 1998, are still active in the company.
